Submission Guidelines

The following guidelines are provided to assist you to submit your abstract. Please follow the instructions when completing the abstract form.

1. Abstracts can only be submitted online in the following platform:
http://leading.eventkey.pt/geral/inserirresumo.aspx?evento=7&formulario=14

2. Submissions and presentations are allowed only in English (either BrE or AmE).

3. Abstract submission consists of:

– Presentation title (it should be as brief as possible, but long enough to indicate clearly the nature of the study: 120 characters maximum, spaces included).
– Author(s) name(s) and contact(s). After completing the information about the corresponding author, please provide the system with details of presenting author and co-authors, if applicable. Note: All authors (corresponding and co-authors) wanting to attend the Conference, must register and pay their registration.
– Preferred presentation format: oral or poster.
– Abstract (the content should be organised to provide clear information as to background, objectives, methods (if applicable), results (if applicable), discussion/conclusions. 500 words maximum, spaces not included)

4. There is a limit of two presentations (oral and/or poster) for a single author, even if in co-authorship.

Review Process

  1. All abstracts are reviewed for their quality and relevance, anonymously, by the respective Session Organiser(s).
  2. The review process of oral presentations and posters is autonomous and runs in parallel.
  3. Session Organiser(s) will rank the accepted abstracts.
  4. Abstract notifications: Corresponding authors will be notified by e-mail about the status of their submitted abstract. The three categories are: accepted, transferred to poster (when the preferred presentation format is oral), or rejected.

Presentation Guidelines
As to oral sessions, the abstracts ranked in the top four will each be given 15 minutes to present; the fifth onwards turn into distributed papers (printed out and made available to attendants during sessions).
Important information

– There is no quality-based distinction, nor will the program and the certificate of attendance differentiate between oral presentations and distributed papers. It reflects only the need to accommodate as many high-quality presentations as possible, while allowing participants to get the most out of the conference.
– In addition to the preparing of the distributed paper (that should consist of a two-page extended abstract), authors presenting a distributed paper should be prepared to make a 15 minutes oral presentation. They will be asked to do so when authors of the abstracts ranked above do not attend to the session. Presenters of oral presentations and distributed papers take equal role in the final discussion in each session.
– All accepted abstracts will be given exclusive access to the submission of full-length manuscripts in publications resulting from the conference. This work is still in progress. Please check the conference website for further information.
